Baiano Co. LLC (“Baiano Co.,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Rooted: Daily Prayer mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the App.

By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to information collected through the App. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or app stores that we do not control.

2. Information We Collect

A. Information you provide

  • Account information: email address, password (stored via authentication provider), and optional display name

  • Onboarding responses: preferences and answers you provide during setup

  • User content: journal entries, prayer requests, reflections, gratitude notes, Bible notes, bookmarks, highlights, and similar content you create in the App

B. Information collected automatically

  • Usage and activity data: prayer sessions, plan progress, streaks, reading progress, feature interactions, and timestamps

  • Device and app data: device type, operating system, app version, language, and general technical logs needed to operate and secure the App

  • Local storage data: certain preferences (e.g., Bible display settings, voice selection) stored on your device

C. Information from third parties

  • Authentication and cloud services: we use service providers (such as Google Firebase) for account login and data storage

  • App stores: if you make purchases, payment processing is handled by Apple/Google; we may receive limited purchase/subscription status information

We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories such as government IDs, precise geolocation for tracking, or payment card numbers directly (payments are handled by app stores).

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the App

  • Create and manage your account

  • Sync your content and progress across devices

  • Personalize devotional plans and in-app experience

  • Generate audio read-aloud features (Bible text may be sent to text-to-speech systems to create audio)

  • Improve performance, reliability, and security

  • Respond to support requests

  • Enforce our Terms and prevent fraud/abuse

  • Comply with legal obligations

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information:

  • With service providers who help us operate the App (hosting, database, authentication, analytics if used, text-to-speech infrastructure), under contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations

  • For legal reasons if required by law, court order, or governmental request, or to protect rights, safety, and security

  • In business transfers such as merger, acquisition, or asset sale (with notice where required)

  • With your direction or consent

5. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business/security purposes (e.g., backup systems for a limited time).

6. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access personal information we hold about you

  • Correct inaccurate information

  • Delete your account and associated data

  • Object to or restrict certain processing

  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format

  • Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights, including:

  • Right to know categories/sources of personal information collected

  • Right to know business/commercial purposes and categories of third parties with whom information is shared

  • Right to delete personal information (subject to exceptions)

  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information

  • Right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” (we do not sell personal information)

  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials.

10. International Users

If you access the App from outside the United States, your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate.

By using the App, you consent to such transfer and processing, subject to applicable law.

11. Third-Party Links and Services

The App may link to third-party sites or services (including hosted Terms/Privacy pages). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the updated Policy.
